Hello friends,

I am Rik, a vegetarian, from the paradise island of Mauritius :)

I have been a vegetarian for 9 hears, but I am still finding it hard to transition to veganism as I "cannot live" without diary products, especially milk.

I am a sportaholic: martial arts, kettlebell, soccer, scuba diving, parachuting.. And I am in great shape, never felt such awesome, both physically and mentally.

Hope to find like minded friends here.

Cheers,

Rik:)

Welcome aboard Rik! :hi: Wow. I've always wanted to live on a beautiful island.

Gong vegan, like a lot of things, including winning at sports, is a matter of motivation; in other words, if you want to do it, you'll find a way. Abstaining from eating meat is very healthful for the body. In a way, going vegan is like a quest for spiritual health- to be totally free of all animal exploitation. It's a wonderful freedom to have.

I hope you find many new friends here at VB!

Yes, you can do it. I am not sure how many commercial vegan dairy alternative products you have available but you can make your own nut milks and cheeses. They are not the same as milk and cheese but some of them can be nice.
