I have been contemplating the move to becoming a vegetarian for a while. I'm new at this and I would appreciate any pointers on nutrition anyone has. Pitfalls you've come up against... anything would be great.

Thanks so much!

Welcome!

If you are concerned about nutrition I would say concentrate on fresh foods that aren't heavily processed. Fruits, vegetables, beans, greens, grains, nuts and seeds.

There are a lot of veg recipes on the internet as well as in books. Try new things a compile a collection of new things you like.

You might also consider signing up for sparkpeople.com, which is free, and use that to track your nutritional intake. You can change their default settings on the Nutrition Tracker so it tracks all the vitamins. You can get daily/weekly/monthly reports on your nutrition and they will generate warnings if there are particular deficiencies that may eventually lead to health issues.
