I picked up two new products made by Gardenburger today! One is bbq chik'n and the other is meatloaf... I am going to try the meatloaf tonight and see if my bf (omni) will eat it.

Anyone try these yet? They are wicked expensive but oh well. I am anxious to try the bbq chik'n.

Ok... we tried the meatloaf for dinner; the mashed potatoes I made were awesome but I am afraid it was a *thumbs down* on the meatloaf. I ate mine but my bf tried it and wouldn't eat anymore. It was just ok. I probably won't buy it again for myself. It was much more like salisbury steak than like meatloaf, in my opinion. The gravy was good, also very salisbury steak-like.

I am anxious to try the bbq chik'n now. I think I will have a bbq chik sandwich tomorrow for lunch. I'll let you know how it turns out

Tried the bbq chik'n last night. YUMMY. It is so new that it is not even on the gardenburger website yet! It was really good. I boiled it in the bag it came in and served it on a toasted bun. The sauce is very much like the riblet sauce (maybe a tiny bit spicier?) and the chik'n was tasty. This is one of my new favorites. The only drawback is that there are only 2 in each box and those are like 3-4 dollars. But I will justify it by saying that if I actually bought this at a restaurant it would probably be a 3-4 dollar meal just for one, so I guess it is a good buy

Man. I wish they had this stuf where I live. sounds so yummy.

I'm so mad, there's so many types of tasty-sounding meat analogs, but they only have the kind that aren't that good here, the things that taste good are all not vegan, due to egg whites. ;(

Sounds good...I'll have to ask about it at the grocery...they are very good about getting in things that people request if they're able. Yikes expensive though! And only two per box...just like the riblets, Ohhhh but those are good.

erin- I *think* they are both vegan. I just did a quick scan of the ingredients and didnt see any egg or milk anything BUT I am not vegan so I might not know what to look for. Sorry! Hope that helps

Ooooo, I hope they're vegan. I'll have to look next time I'm at the store. If they're in the "black and...tan" boxes they usually say if they're vegan on the box. At least the riblets and chik'n do, I think.
