My boss called me this morning. She found a kitten on her way home last night. Of course, I was the first one she thought of. Anyway, it was fate, but I wont get into the details. He or she will be moving in with me tonight. I'm so excited to meet him/her! I wonder just how excited the other cats are going to be. It will be fun without fail.

Yay!

The computer has to get taken in again, so I'll have lots of quality time for my new little one. I'll post pictures when I can.

Ah, how exciting, Erin. Please, keep us posted.

A friend of the family's asked us to keep a mommy and 6 kittens for her while she looks for a new place to live. She brought them over yesterday and put them in our garage. The babies are only 1 wk old - they are so cute. The mommy moved the babies, though, out of the container that my friend brought and hid them behind some piles of wood that we have in the garage. I hope that they end up doing okay. The mommy won't have anything to do with anyone, but I think she was sort of wild any way. The sad thing is that if my friend doesn't take those kitties back soon, I know I will get very attached to them as they grow. I can't afford to take in more pets...but somehow, like Erin, I have a feeling that I will find a way.

Congratulations! I hope your other cats accept it okay. Let me know how it turns out.

She is absolutely perfect. From the ends of her whiskers to the tip of her tail. She immediately wanted to be with the other cats and within a few hours was happily attacking the dogs tails. The whole house has really lightened up since her arrival a week and a half ago. There were only 2 cats that didn't seem happy about her joining the family, but even they play and/or cuddle with her now.

My boss thought she was a boy and I thought she was a girl. So I temporarily named her Tristan which is unisex. The name fit really well, but now that I am certain she's a girl, I'm changing it. I just like it a lot better for a boy.

These are the names that I am considering:

Rhiannon

Caden

Fiona

Morgan

Casey

Haley

I just have to make sure the name fits her. Caden means "little warrior" which she definitely seems to be, but Tim thinks it sounds too much like a boys name. He hates the names Rhiannon, Fiona and Morgan. He would choose Casey ("brave") for her. But he has yet to meet her. I'll know in another day or two.

Here is a picture of her on the window sill with Matteo and Sarah is watching from below. It isn't the best shot, but I just can't get her to stay still!

Having her in my home means more to me than I could ever explain. My heart has been sore since Merlin died a few months ago and in a way I feel like he helped get her here. She is a true blessing and I hope this family will mean as much to her.

Actually, Merlin was all black. She is black and white like my first cat C.C. Thank you for remembering Merlin though.

Her colors are symbolic for me. Ever since CC passed, I have wanted another cat that looked like him. There are plenty out there, but it wasn't until now that one was brought into my life. I feel that there is a new chapter getting ready to begin. Black and white are both colors that aren't even really colors. It's a balance of the dark and the light.

I've officially named her Casey - although I tend to more often call her crazy.

aww what a cute little thing. hey your Sarah looks identical, markings and all, to a friend's cat. do you have other pics of her posted? i'm wondering if her face looks like Sgetti too (yes her name is Sgetti short for Spagetti. don't ask)

black and white kitties are the best aren't they? all the ones i've known have been big sucky attention hogs, even the one who hated people (go figure)

I agree with Tim that Caden sounds like a boy's name. I know two couples with little boys named Caden.

How many critters do you have now?

I'm so jealous! I have one cat and would love to have more. However, my cat has always been picked on mercilessly by any other cat she has lived with, so the rest of the cats I've ever had are with my-ex. On the bright side, she's much happier and plays now that there are no other cats around. Before she would hide and cower a lot.

Anyway, congratulations on your beautiful little addition!

ah spagetti was like that too, always submisive and picked on by the other cats. my friend eventually gave her over to an aunt with a lot of property. now she's a happy roaming kitty.

Why not call her "Isolde" as she was the counterpart in Irish myth to Tristan?

Otherwise, you could try "Trista"- feminised Tristan, meaning sad, which is appropriate for a little lost orphan.

Caden is a boyish name. No go, IMO.
