For some reason I feel ridiculously tired in the afternoon and want to take naps, but my mother doesn't allow me to rest during the day, so I need to find other ways to get more energy.

Is there anyway to raise my energy without taking supplements

It should be noted that I hate coffee.

I know it seems counter intuitive, because you're tired, but exercise helps boost energy!
Getting out and getting some fresh air - such as a brisk walk, always wakes me up.

There are also lots of teas and aromatherapy options that can help boost energy.

I wonder why? Naps are said to be good for you. A half hour nap will do much more to make you more alert than a cup of coffee. Many people take naps instead of eating lunch when they can. It is too bad you are being forced to go against your body like that.

I agree with Paisleyjane that exersise, like a brisk walk might make you feel better. I would slip out the door and go and take a nap somewhere though.

^^^^ what envy said.....and then, it sounds like you're getting the mid afternoon slump. What kinds of sugars and simple carbs are you eating for lunch- like white pasta, french fries, chips etc? Are you eating lunch at all? Are you drinking soda and having some candy as a dessert by any chance?

If you eat more vegetables/complex carbs full of fiber, you may find the tiredness also goes away. Exercise is a great pick me up- even doing 10 minutes 3x a day is as beneficial, so they say, as a full half hour.

Also, how much sleep are you getting at night? Is it a restful sleep? If you are not sleeping well or getting enough hours in, then you be actually be overtired and your body is telling you it needs rest.

This. For me, I find I crash if I've had too many simple carbs. Even if I eat a ton of really healthy food, if I also include the junk, I will totally crash. And I find that drinking water helps a lot...dehydration can make you tired as well.
