i've been thinking about it a lot lately, and i've concluded that i really dont like the way that birth control has so much affect over my hormones. i am much more moody while on birth control, and i have gained weight from it, and feel bloated a lot of times. although, it has really improved my periods making them more regular and lighter. does anyone know of a more natural or herbal way to get around this issues (having a regular period, lighter period, less cramping) without having to take the birth control?

Actually, there just happens to be a thread where we discussed this fairly recently. You may find some helpful information here.<br><br><a href="http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/showthread.php?t=55355" target="_blank">http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/s...ad.php?t=55355</a>

try charting to avoid pregnancy, like everything else it isn't 100% but nothing is, charting involves no chemicals or anything and gets you in tune with your body

I tried something called the Luna Fertility Kit once.<br><br><br><br><a href="http://www.lunafertility.com/news.html" target="_blank">http://www.lunafertility.com/news.html</a><br><br><br><br>
Basically, it is like a 'charting' thingy. You have to lick this slide everyday and check the liney pattern of your saliva.<br><br><br><br>
Mine NEVER looked close to the ones the example and the slide thingy never stayed clean and always had fuzzy on it so it was hard to tell what was going on.<br><br><br><br>
I gave up on it after a while but maybe you might like it.

You could also look into Natural Family Planning, which goes by your temperature instead of saliva. I hear it is very accurate, but I am not at the stage of life to try it myself yet. I can understand not wanting the pill anymore though, to understand and know your body and cycle better. I am only on a low dose for a different reason, not for contraception. Sometimes I wonder what my cycle would be without it, but I am not about to stop it just yet to see. lol.

I don't think you're going to be able to find something natural that will lighten your flow or reduce cramping without taking SOMETHING.

yes, these kinds of methods can lead you to information that will help you with those issues. a lot of women find that by charting, they're able to better understand their cycles and what they are doing or not doing that is affecting these cycles both positively and negatively.<br><br><br><br>
similarly, a lot of reproductive related herbalism focuses on nutrient rich teas, tinctures, and infusions. These can help reduce various PMS symptoms, increase or decrease fertility, and help with a variety of other sexual-related problems or concerns.<br><br><br><br>
Here's an article called <a href="http://susunweed.com/susunweedarticles.htm#an3" target="_blank">Ten Tips for Women with PMS</a> by <a href="http://susunweed.com/" target="_blank">Susun Weed</a>, the herbalist i mentioned before. Hopefully, you'll find this helpful.
