I'm probobly going to be too timid to do actually anything about this, but I need to get it out anyway.

In short, my dad wont let me buy a pair of vegan snowboots because he says that they would be bad for my feet and that I'd end up needing foot surgery.

so of course, when he makes me shovel out the snow from the driveway, I have nothing but chuck taylors to wear, which is perhaps marginally better than going barefoot.

now i'm sick and dad is using it as "proof" that being a vegetarian is unhealthy

Would your dad think that any pair would be bad, or just one in particular that you wanted? What is his reasoning? Perhaps you could find a company he finds respectable like at an outdoor website and see if that company has any vegan snow boots.

For example, these appear to be vegan and they are on sale, too.

Frostbite is definitely unhealthy and can damage your feet for real.

Just pick out a pair of boots you want and don't say anything about them being vegan. Lots of snow boots are vegan cause they have that wacky plastic nylony stuff outside to repell water.

Or save money and buy your own.

Let me get this straight: Your dad won't buy you boots because he says they are bad for your feet, but you're allowed to wear Chuck Taylors. We are talking about canvas shoes with no arch support, right?

Would he buy you non-Vegan snow boots? If so, have him how you what he would be willing to purchase for you, then see if you can find a Vegan alternative that looks the same online.
