i think my cookies failed to become biscuits because i didn't spread the mixture thin enough or leave them in the oven long enough but could there be any other reason?

i'm so disappointed lol

i was looking forward to eating them and then i take a bite and its like cake!?

Were you trying to make biscotti? Usually, you bake them first, then slice while still warm and put them back in the oven to bake some more. That's what makes them crisp. But I don't know what kind of cookies you were making.

Did you use a lot of baking powder? I agree that seeing the ingredients would help.

Did they taste okay as cake?

the wet / dry ingredient balance was probably off. i like cake-like cookies so i always add 1/8 - 1/4 c. more flour.

Altitude could make a difference as well. (I know, going from 700-ish feet to 6000-ish feet in elevation, cooking in both places)
