Some of you asked me to post some of my band's music. Last night we recorded our practice session. The recording is not a very good quality, but we record to see what we do wrong ... or right ... so we can listen and improve. I'm kind of annoyed because one of our best songs was messed up from passing truckers on their CBs. Yeehaw! I left that one off *L*

Here ya go! Essentially, it's old jazz standards.

The Red Holland Trio Plus One

BTW, I would much appreciate any constructive criticism anyone has to offer. But remember, this was a practice session. Thanks!

Thanks!

Our singer is also our drummer. She's played drums all of her life, but this is her first time playing "jazz" drums and her first time singing. She's still learning the songs, which is why she's only singing on a couple of the songs - - I can't wait for her to sing most of them!

My father is the piano player and I am the bassist. We also have a long-time friend playing guitar and sax.

Pictures will be taken today, so hopefully I can post those tomorrow.

Okay, the picture is now uploaded. It is NOTHING special, but for curious minds who want to know...

My band

Sorry about that Muzicfan. It was a screwup on my part so I deleted the post saying I couldn't hear the songs.

Once I fixed my screwup I listened to the songs. I really liked them.

Of course I'm disproportionately fond of jazz in comparison to other types of music.

I thought maybe you were saying that you could hear the CBers on one of the songs or something *Laughs and shrugs*

Thanks, though! Yeah, I love many types of music, but I always go back to jazz.

Oh, I just read above. She's the new singer. Neat!

ETA: It's coming in *really* low volume. I could barely hear "Twilight," even with my ear to the speaker. I turned my volume all the way up...

What I did hear sounds great though

Thanks Strix.

Yeah, Paula is our newest member. She's never done the "jazz" thing before and I think she's doing great so far. She's still learning the whole feel and lyrics and such. We had hired her to help pull off the latin thing if you remember -- right before they decided to can us the next month! We get along realllllly well, though. Sometimes to see her in action, she reminds me of me! *L* I feel really lucky to have hired someone that I get along with so well!

I'm sorry the sound isn't that great. That's the problem with "home" recordings If we ever get a job I feel is steady, I'm going to get a studio recording done and get some CDs made. We can always set 'em up for sell on stage. Plus, if we have an "official" recording, my next goal is to get a spot on the public radio lunch hour. It's all just a matter of hard work to get it all together.

Thanks again!
