When I was a vegetarian I started getting a whole lot of mucous. Not right at the beginning but about a year and a half in. I never really worried about it much but then once I became a vegan it started getting worse. Allot more freguent and harder to cough up. Then a couple weeks ago I started getting it really bad. I wake up in the middle of the night choking and trying to breathe and can only cough a little bit of it up. But now when I cough I choke, get really bad headaches, stomach pains and I feel like i'm about to puke. I get it really bad when I eat small foods like sunflower seeds, pistachios, rice, etc, and when I drink soy milk. I'm pretty sure i'm not allergic to nuts because I can eat them fine, most of the time, and eat a whole bunch of other kinds., but I was wondering if it had something to do with the salt<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/huh.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=""> , because all the ones that give me problems are salted, and shelled. And I know i'm not allergic to soy, because I can eat anything with soy, just sometimes soymilk gives me trouble. But I don't drink it very often. Also when I accidently eat dairy, my mucous goes crazy and it feels like i'm dying.WELL I don't know what dying feels like but...yeah... And I really don't know what to do. I've asked my mom to buy me things that help with mucous but she won't, she just says to drink water. So does anybody know what I can do to stop it or at least cut it down? Has anybody else had this problem, what did you do about it?
