How often do you have to clean your mouse?

I don't have an optical mouse and I have to clean it every 2-3 weeks.

By cleaning I mean scraping the dirt from the innerweels in the mouse

every couple months. but I have a trackball. I've been using trackballs so long that I dislike using the mouse and having to move my arm all over the mousepad... too much work.

I have mouse at work and figure since it isn't mine, why bother. (Good attitude, isn't it?) We have a laptop at home and the mouse is part of the system.

I use a logitech cordless optical mouse ... I just use rechargable batteries for it so no big deal . Hence, my mouse has no balls and needs no cleaning ....

I alternate between my graphics tablet and my mouse, which is just a regular old mouse. I think a lot of the crap that gets in the wheels has to do with the fabric mousepads, and I just plunk mine on top of my tablet which as a really smooth surface. It tends to lengthen the time between cleanings. Not to mention that I don't use it as much.

Yeah I sometimes use my pen even when not doing graphics like for navigating the internet LOL. Even if one didn't do graphics, it could be an alternative for people getting stress from mouse use.

Assuming you have a wacom, that means you don't use the wacom mouse (it has no ball). I never liked using that mouse ... I guess because I didn't like having to have it on the tablet (felt wierd to me)

When I had a standard mouse... I found that when new, it would be good for 5 or 6 months before a cleaning was necessary. But once you cleaned it the first time, it seemed to require it fairly frequently.

I hate that mouse. I never use it. When I want a mouse, I want to be able to use it on a bigger space than I use my stylus. I think they should just get rid of the mouse altogether and make the tablets cheaper.
