I just bought a box of Veggie burgers and Chik'n nuggets for the first time. I haven't tried them yet, kinda nervous to. What is the taste like, is it all soy?

Which type of veggie burgers did you get? I don't find their products "soy tasting" and think they do a decent (not the best) job at replicating the flavor of the real thing. They are so much healthier than meat and cruelty free. I hope you enjoy them.

FYI: One tip I will give you is don't microwave either one of those. Veggie burgers taste much better fried and veggie nuggets come out crispier in the oven (or fried as well). Microwaving = mushiness

That's good to hear! Glad it worked out. You probably just have the regular burgers than. They also come in a variety of different flavors.

Maxim magazine did a taste test of most brands of chicken nuggets, and threw WS Farms into the pool. The MS Farms nuggets won! I recommend you try Boca Vegan Grillers if you have access to them. They are my fave.

Yep, the "Grillers Original" is my favorite of theirs so far. I'd like to try the Mushroom Lovers burgers pretty soon, also. I usually like cooking them up on the Foreman's grill, that works out well.

Don't think I can bring myself to try the Veggie Dogs though, mostly because the color looks a little too light, as if they were undercooked or something. I'm weird that way.

I have read some reviews on Morningstar and they get high marks for taste, but I don't think they are very healthy. I tried them when I first went Veg, but have not had any since. I did see the Vegan ones at Costco and almost bought them, but the price was not any better than Dr. Preagers. I also eat the Indian Marsala Burgers from TJ's and they are very good. I have heard the TJ Veggie Burgers are good, but have not tried them. It seems a lot of veggie burgers have milk or lactose products and I can't have that.

Well if you compare them to real meat burgers than they are definitely healthier. And yes they are processed so they aren't as healthy as homemade veggie burgers but they are good for a quick easy meal and also help some people transition.

I really like MSF Chik'n Grillers and when I want a crispy breaded chicken burger I go for Boca's.

Veggie burgers come in so many varieties. There are some that try hard to mimic actual meat's taste and texture. Others do not. I have seen black bean chipotle, tomato mozzarella, portobello mushroom, and garden veggie flavored types in my store's freezer. So, if you try one you don't like, don't give up on veggie burgers altogether.

Also, I agree that they are least good when made in the microwave. They are great grilled, either outside or on a George Forman grill. Usually make mine in a frying pan on the stove. No oil or anything, just make sure they heat all the way through and get a little bit crispy

Yes! They're tasty from the microwave, but I recently made one in a pan for the first time and it's a whole different experience...much tastier

Mmmmm, I haven't had falsie meat in a log time, but this thread is making me hungry for sun dried tomato burger, which tastes like pizza!
