Hey- if you eat meat you can become gravely ill and maybe die!<br><br><a href="http://www.nbc-2.com/story/15206644/36m-lbs-of-turkey-recalled-in-salmonella-outbreak" target="_blank">http://www.nbc-2.com/story/15206644/...nella-outbreak</a><br><br>
How many times do they have to recall meat before stricter regulations are placed. They keep putting band-aids on the issue by just recalling it.<br><br>
Sickening. The FDA is supposed to protect us. In a perfect world, right?<br><br>
I love animals and hate the cruelty- but this is the main reason I went vegetarian and eventually vegan in the first place. The rampant contamination and blatant disregard for the safety of our country.

and make sure to pass along this quote from the article:<br><i><br>
"The CDC estimates that 50 million Americans each year get sick from food poisoning, including about 3,000 who die. Salmonella causes most of these cases, and federal health officials say they've made virtually no progress against it."</i>

Hmmmm ..<br><br>
You would have thought the fact that meat in the kitchen (both domestic and commercial) has to be handled like a toxic contaminant might ring alarm bells for anyone with more than 2 brain cells connected together.<br><br>
Without making assertions about how few people actualy do have more than 2 brain cells connected together; In 99.99999999999999999% of people it, quite clearly, doesn't.

I think we just need to get the word out there. If some don't care about the mistreatment of animals- maybe they will care about this??<br>

I don't think so Molly.<br><br>
Meat eating is rooted, ultimately, in selfishness. Where risk to self can be reduced to an acceptable level then any care for risk to other than self simply evaporates.
