Mom's Michigan Meatloaf<br><br>

Suitable for a: vegan diet<br><br><br><br><br><br>
3 Cups TVP granules<br><br>
2 1/2 Cups boiling water<br><br>
1/4 Cup ketchup<br><br>
1/2 Cup quick oats<br><br>
4TBSP steak sauce, or brown sauce<br><br>
3TBSP veggie soup base, or boullion cube<br><br>
1/2 Cup finely chopped onion, sauteed in oil<br><br>
1 Cup gluten flour<br><br>
1tsp salt<br><br>
1/4tsp pepper<br><br>
1/2tsp oregano<br><br>
1tsp basil<br><br>
1/2tsp garlic powder<br><br>
1TBSP finely minced parsley<br><br>
2TBSP additional oil<br><br><br><br><br><br>
Mix in a large bowl TVP, ketchup, oats, basil and broth powder with boiling water. Let stand for 10 minutes.<br><br><br><br>
Saute onion in oil. Add onions to the rehydrated TVP and stir in. Mix remaining ingredients into TVP mixture.<br><br><br><br>
Lightly oil a bread pan, pack mixture tightly in. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.<br><br><br><br>
Let sit in pan for 10 minutes, loosen all edges before slicing, or turn out onto plate, then slice. Serve with gravy. Makes good leftover sandwiches!<br><br><br><br><br><br>

Texturized vegetable protein. I think texturized soy protein is basically the same thing. Comes in little nodules that look like doggy kibble.
