Mislabeled "Faux" Fur Busted Again!

914 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  juno
We all remember the "faux" fur/dog fur scandal of last winter. Well, it's happened again this year, with several online and national retailers.

One difference is that this year, some of the coats actually had tags sewn into the garment claiming the fur is "100% polyester"! This shows that the problem reaches beyond web editors or store owners not knowing the contents of the items they sell. The deception starts with the manufacturer.

unbelievable.

even when you try and know where your things come from, you never really do 'know' do you.

I don't support these designers regardless of whether a particular item has fur or not (because so many of their items do have fur and they use it as a selling point), but thank you for posting it as it's important for people to realize the deception involved in marketing.

That's why I like to grow my own food. I hate the fact that I don't have land any more.

Exactly. I'm with you that I don't buy it anyways because it still is supporting fur as the designers still sell fur, but it would be nice that if someone did want to buy faux fur that it would be actually...ohhhh I don't know...FAUX!

Mislabeling is ridiculous.

This is why I'm always so skeptical about labels... It's a good thing that I live in a tropical country where fur isn't popular at all. But this issue can still extend to other things such as food and cosmetics... *sigh*
