I really want to try mineral makeup again. I loved the way that bareminerals felt on my skin... however, the lightest shade is still too dark for me. Are there any other mineral foundations that come in maybe a bigger variety of shades?

I with you, I am already pale and then on top of that I live in Wisconsin so.......yeah I need a lighter shade mineral makeup than they seem to offer. I know that doesn't help you but I'll start looking around and let you know, maybe a professional line may have more to offer. I'll see.

i've bought mineral foundation from this place before, i'm quite pale, and they have 3 or 4 shades paler than my skin- and a pretty big range of shades.

i emailed the owner about a few things (the veganness of things- her brushes are real hair, but you can get cheap vegan brushes anywhere-and some of the lip glosses etc aren't vegan- she'll provide a list on request- etc) and she was really helpful and replied fast too.

they'll also mail you a few samples for about $2 each (plus p+p) too, which'd give you the chance to try a few shades and find if they're any good, without paying out a whole load.

i've not used any other brands, so i can't really compare it to other products on the market, but this one seems fine to me- subtle but decent enough coverage, price is ok, etc.

Whats the difference between mineral makeup and normal?

id never buy foundation online unless they were willing to send samples or something cheap, impossible to match a colour with a computer screen!

I really like everyday minerals. http://www.everydayminerals.com They'll send you a fairly generous sample kit with 3 foundations, a blush and concealer for just shipping and handling (like $3-$4). Each foundation sample lasted me like 2 weeks, so you can get a good idea of how they look.

ETA: Pirate Ferret: MM is exactly what it sounds like- makeup made out of minerals, ie "Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Zinc Oxide". It usually comes in powder form, in some sort of shaker or little pot and you use a brush to buff it into your skin. If the colors are right and you apply it right, it can look really nice and natural and still give good coverage. A lot of people find that their skin looks and feels better after using it too.
