im sure there is already a thread about this stupid mofo but i dont feel like looking for it and i really need to get this off of my chest. HOW CAN PEOPLE STILL LIKE HIM??? hes a horrible human being and what he did was absolutely appauling and he got a slap on the wrist and the mvp award and 100 mil!!! i dont understand i just dont.

how can people actually cheer for him how can people even support the eagles after what he did. it makes no sense and it just makes me so angry. my bf is a big football fan (not the eagles) so we always have espn on and stuff and they only name i ever hear is vick the only guy i ever see them interview is vick. why is he such a hero?

i dont want my future kids looking up to someone like that. what he is teaching kids is number 1 its cool to abuse animals and number 2 its ok to do illegal stuff as long as you can kick a ball its alright. people dont like rothelsberger because supposedly he raped a girl and people dont like oj simpson because he supposedly killed someone. but we all like michael vick even though he is techniacclay a criminal. and i do realize that hes not the only dog fighter out there and hes not the only animal abuser and killer but he did all these awful things and he got a 100 million dollar contract. umm hello

o yea thats right he apologized... did the animals that he hurt understand his apology?? what about the ones that died did they understand?? and i dont accept his apology. he knew what he was doing hes not a child and hes sane. well thats questionable. i just dont understand why he is a hero now. o and i never heard of him befor he got caught either but now hes all over the place. hes a true american idol. and i hate when people tell me he did his time he did 2 years and had to give a little tiny smidgen of his money to an animal shelter or something. how about we tie him to a rope and let some rabid dogs beat on him for a little while and rip him open. that sounds like a better punishment then giving him a 100million dollar contract.

I have not watched a Philly game since he showed there and will not even if that would mean missing the Super bowl! Which I don't think is going to be a problem anyway...... dream team HAH!

You cannot do what he did and truly be sorry. I don't care, what he did is just to evil to now say your sorry.... other then sorry he got caught!

It didn't surprise me in the least that the Eagles signed him, as their fans are horrible and probably love his criminal history. And Vick is a whiny wuss of a football player, and a sicko. :/ ESPN sucks too.

Being an Australian I had not heard of Michael Vick so, of course, I googled him. there was quite a lot about his involvement with dog fighting but also quite a lot about his work against it now.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6783947/michael-vick-philadelphia-eagles-takes-anti-dogfighting-mission-congress

I agree that what he did was abhorrent however IMO the MVP award and huge salary are unrelated issues and speak more to the habit of idolising andover compensating sports stars.

In relation to his past poor behaviour may I play devils advocate and ask what he would need to do for you to accept he is truly sorry?

For the same reason that I saw some idiot wearing a Roethlisberger jersey the other day. People do not give a sh*t whether or not their football hero is a decent human being. As long as he wins games and entertains them, they will forgive anything.

Cyclone - read these 3 articles and then tell me if you think he's really changed -

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl...#ixzz19xH5rR5l
http://chrisdurant2000.wordpress.com...gly-convicted/
http://badrap-blog.blogspot.com/2009...ans-sport.html

Thank you for providing the links Irizary. They were very informative. OP, I understand where you are coming from.

You know I can forgive a lot of things but this I just can't. He's a straight up murderer! Slamming the dogs on the ground breaking their heads and spines, hanging, shooting, setting them on fire, the rape stands..hell no! These kind of actions cannot be said with an "I'm sorry." Those intentions are still there. You can't just shut something like that off!

There was a 4 or 5 part special on BET about Mike Vick. During his interview he did not show any remorse, no teary eyed, no sadness or anything when he spoke about the dog fighting. Just a blank expression. His wife was interviewed as well, wearing loads of diamonds and gold, black leather outfit, long hair weave, crying saying "I don't want my kids to grow up without a dad because I grew up that way." I wonder if she ever went to her husband and asked him to stop with the dog fighting?

I even read that he would file the dogs teeth into sharp points for better fights and that the dogs fought in pools of blood! How sick can one be to even attend something like this!?! There were chip and animal cracker bags at the scene indicating that this was a family event! WTF! Now the children will have to live with this and see how animals are treated.

All he can do now is apologize to the public and change his ways. True, he might not mean his apology, but he needs to set a good example now. I do agree that his football career should be over now.

His actions were too psychopathic and sadistic for there to be any real change in his conscience, although he's doing well with the PR. It's like thinking Ted Bundy had a change of heart after sadistically torturing and murdering numerous women.

Yeah if he's not a monster in human form I don't know what is.

Gonna plug Best Friends Sanctuary, since they took in a lot of his ex-fighters. Some aren't re-homeable even now, so they are available for sponsorship.
i could never accept that he is truely sorry because i dont beleive he is. what he could do, or what the public could do is not let him do what he loves anymore which is play football and make bookoo bucks. if your not from america than you probably dont realize how much of an idol he is over here. hes always on tv hes is like the only football player that they ever interview. everybody loves him. if charles manson came out and said oh im sorry for what i did or sadaam husein said im sorry would you believe that? what this a$$hole did is pretty much the equivilant to that in the animal kingdom, i guess thats how i can put it. and he only got 2 years in jail because he can kick a football. seriously i dont believe hes sorry because hes a sick F*** you have to be to do those kind of things. if he wouldnt have gotten caught he would still be doing it. hes not sorry for what he did hes sorry that he got caught.
ps im not blowing up on you personally i feel VERY strongly about this. its not ok

That's because celebrities who commit crimes typically get slaps on the wrist. The American justice system is a joke and desperately needs reformed.

Quote:

Michael Vick is a horrible human being, but he's also a free man and allowed to make real money.

we let him be a free man and are helping him make more money because he is so widely supported. he shouldnt have been let back in to football hes a criminal and people look up to him. he is more widely known now than before what he did. i dont think OJ or Rothelsberger should be ball players anymore either. if what they did was proven then there criminals. its not ok and we support them and give them there paychecks. 2 years wasnt enough. he shouldve had a year for every animal he killed and 2 years for every animal he hurt.
and im pretty sure he was atleast in the running for mvp because i know i heard it somewhere.
criminals shouldnt be admired. our role models should be decent human beings not heartless scumbags
