I want to meet other vegans...I tried to look up a "meet up" group in my area but the members were... kinda older. I want to talk to/meet people in their 20s early/mid 30s. Anyone wanna talk to me? haha. .

or does anyone else know where to find a group in my area?

Well, what is your area? We've got local forums here on VB for every state and province in the USA and Canada, a forum for the UK and one for Australia & New Zealand, and then there is a separate thread for most other countries. So you could try posting in there. A fair number of our members are vegan even though the forum is for vegetarians of all flavours.

PS, I would be careful with posting my email address like that in an open forum. You might want to edit that out. We have a private message feature on the board that is probably a better way to contact people directly.

Our meetup has about 600 people in it. If you just came to one meetup you might get a certain impression of the group that's not totally accurate because different people come to different events. Each event only attracks 10-20 people. So... what I'm saying is to give the meetup a couple more tries to see if you can find some of the younger people.

Also, if you have a local Vegan Drinks, that tends to attract people in the age group you're seeking. Here's the website: http://vegandrinks.org/

isn't there a website called meetup.com or something similar, where you can find all kinds of things? I bet there's vegan potlucks and stuff you could check out in your area

(or I could be wrong, and that could be a different kind of meetup site...)

thanks, yeah I did that and when I got there everyone was in their 50s.. or older. It was weird. I got advice above to go again, because maybe the younger crowd just wasn't at that meet up. I was hoping that maybe on this site there would be a way to find vegans in my area.. but idk I'm new to this.

I really don't know. I'm on a hair forum, and we do meetups occasionally on that (a handful of us will drive/fly to boston or somewhere in washington or whatever), but I don't know if we do that here. we should, though. I think that would be fun.

There's lots of differen't ways to meet up with other vegans. Try local meet ups and events. You can't go wrong with that because everyone is there for the same reason.

If you're into AR you could look for that kind of groups as well. That crowd is probably a bit younger.

You could post a notice at a local healthfood store. Check local colleges/universities for groups.
Also, you could post on Craigslist in the community section, but be sure to meet in a public place.

I know this is an old thread but it's making me laugh. All you youngin's complaining about old folks. I have the opposite problem. I recently joined a meet-up group and most of the people are so young!

Just an FYI: I run a veg meetup and we have over 700 members. Each event attracts about 10-20 people. If you only go to a few events then you may not meet the people who are most like you.

Sometimes you have to hang in there a little while to find the people and/or events that most suit you.

You can also offer to host an event that appeals to you. That may draw out more people who are similar to you.

The group I joined has 100 members and yes, only about 15 showed up at the two events I've gone to so far. In time I'll hopefully meet more people my age. If not, I might try to host an over 40 meet-up. For now though, I'm just excited to learn about all the local places I can go to.

That happened to me when I joined the South Jersey vegetarian society. I was very disappointed, but they were still so nice and welcoming :D

I also met this really cool vegan woman who is in her thirties, but despite the age difference she was so cool and nice. I spend the entire time talking to her!

I actually met my very good friend off of Tumblr. We both had vegan blogs and starting talking :) Then we met up and bam GOOD FRIENDS !

We go out to eat very often, went to Farm Sanctuary together, and I slept over her house too haha!
