Slaughter free meat, would you try it, or would it still be off limits... I think might pass it up due to the unnatural way it is produced. basically it sounds about as nasty as you can get.

This might however be the answer to starving people in the world.

Quote:

I think it would be a shame to continue the notion that people have to eat some sort of meat for health; but if it would save animals, maybe it's an ok solution.

I dont know that would be enforcing the idea that people need to eat meat, but it would give an alternative to those that do feel guilty but are still eating it.

sorta like donuts, we (well, not me but most) can certainly live without them, they serve no purpose, but we like the taste so billions every year are spend on them.

I think if it tasted right, and was priced right, it would reduce the slaughter.. But im not eating it.. Ill stick to donuts

Any meat grosses me out. I can't even eat fake meat that tastes/smells too much like real meat. It's just gross!

I would pass it up for the same reasons I pass up GMO corn and soy. I have no objection to the idea though.

Wow, that makes it more disgusting to me.

I think the solution to world hunger is veg*nism. If we weren't using so much grain to feed animals we were intending to slaughter for meat, then we could use it to feed starving nations. But its a slippery slope. Remember? That was the promise of GMO's. We were told they would save the world from starvation, but that didn't happen. Those that were starving are still starving, while the wealthy west poisons itself with frankenfood.

Eurgh - that just sounds really wrong. I'm not even that keen on TVP or Quorn (so processed) ... I guess I just want to know that my food on my plate comes from something natural and recognisable.

Also it reminded me to the Margret Atwood novel .. Oryx and Krake?

Why isn't discussed as suitable for dog and CAT food!!!??
I've e-mailed labs researching this lab meat, and no one mentions the possibility of cat food

i think its very weird but, its a good solution, for the people that wont stop eating meat because it taste good, and are to lazy to see what other food can give them proteins, and the best part, no animal suffering ^^ <3

I agree, it is a shame, but as long as we continue to persist for some time yet, so for the sake of animals, I think it's important that some cruelty free alternatives are given to people to get them away from meat.

Quote:

I Personally Don't think it is a really bad idea eating meat (ive been a veggie all me life and brought up as one) the way i see it is god made animals for us to eat.

However All Meat Will Cause Some Sort OF Animal Has to die unaturally hence causing suffering.

I guess it would help if meat eaters switched to this stuff, I wouldn't eat it though.

Meat eaters won't eat it. it is unnatural and unhealthy, and as we know meat eaters are usually health freaks

I actually woould eat it. not all the time, but every once in a while as a little treat. And silva made a great point! it would be awesome as pet food

it does seem a lot more ethical but i had a discussion with my major meat-eater friend about this and she said it sounded disgusting and wouldn't even try it, so... might not do to much good. agree with ira, think it will just freak people out too much to have a huge impact. big no on this for me too... just too unnatural....
