I collect vegan cookbooks. Yes, I have a lot of them!

But now my cabinet is almost full, so I have to be very selective.

I keep hearing good things about 'The Vegetarian Meat and Potatoes Cookbook' by Robin Robertson.

I always ignored that book, because I don't like books with 'Meat' in the title.

Does anyone here own this book. Is it worth buying?

I have been wondering the same thing. I have a friend who is not a veg*n at all, but she might really like this cookbook. I may get it for her as a gift. I will look on Amazon to see if anyone has reviewed it there...

I checked it out of the library a while ago. It is great. One of Robertson's other books, Vegan Planet, is very popular with Veggieboard folk, too. The "meat" and potatoes book has a lot of wintery dishes, things like potpies, stews, and soup. There are also a lot of really nice desserts, especially a multi-layered chocolate cake recipe.

Veg Times did story on the book, I believe it was last year, in their February issue for Valentine's Day. The photos of the cake were mind blowing.
