This is big news. Several years ago, when McD's demanded larger cages for its egg-laying hens, producers scrambled all over each other to comply, because they didn't want to lose that lucrative contract. Don't be surprised if pork producers start dropping gestation crates at a faster clip now so they can sell to the almighty McDs.

Now, if McDonald's supplied <i>food</i>, we'd all be in great shape. Or, at least, better shape then we are now.
