Yes, it is possible to make healthy liquorice candies using raw food ingredients. One way to achieve this is by using freeze-dried techniques to preserve the flavors and textures of the ingredients. Freeze-drying is a method of food preservation that removes moisture from the food without using heat, thus retaining most of the nutrients and flavors.
To make freeze-dried liquorice candies, you would start by preparing a mixture using raw food ingredients such as liquorice root powder, dates, raw honey or maple syrup, and any additional flavorings you desire. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until they form a dough-like consistency.
Next, shape the dough into small candy-sized portions or use molds to create desired shapes. Place the shaped candies onto a tray or a baking sheet and put them in a freeze-dryer. The freeze-dryer will slowly remove the moisture from the candies over several hours, leaving them with a crispy texture and intense flavor.
Once the freeze-drying process is complete, you can store the freeze-dried liquorice candies in an airtight container for longer shelf life. These candies will retain their flavors and nutrients while being a healthier alternative to traditional liquorice candies, as they are made with raw food ingredients and free from added preservatives or artificial sweeteners.
It's worth noting that freeze-drying equipment may not be readily available in every household. If you don't have access to a freeze-dryer, you can still make healthy liquorice candies using raw ingredients by experimenting with alternative food preservation methods such as dehydration or low-temperature baking. However, these methods may not yield the same texture and flavor as freeze-dried candies.
Remember to adjust the recipe according to your taste preferences and dietary restrictions, and enjoy your homemade freeze-dried liquorice candies as a healthier treat option!

Thank you very much!

It actually sounds like a very easy setup / handling. Few ingredients needed. Besides of having to have a freeze dryer. Never heard of such or of freeze-drying. When I search for a freeze dryer (e.g. on Amazon), dehydrators are shown, very strange. I have to buy one, a dehydrator, anyway. So I would try making liquorice candies with a dehydrator when I get one.

Do you have a recipe (for the mixture)?

What should I look for to find a freeze-driying device?

So the liquorice root powder is the key ingredient. Is there a special one you recommended?
