Making Cookies with Nut Butter

1446 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Kyo
I never made cookies but am thinking about it. It seems cookies usually have a whole lot of added fat. I was thinking that maybe this fat could be replaced by the fat in a nut-butter (such as almond butter). That way, along with the fat you would be getting the good things from the nuts. Has anyone tried this?

that sounds like a good idea...you'll probably have to play around with the the dough texture though. it might need a little extra liquid. nut butters (especially those natural ones) are much more dense than the kinds of fats cookies are normall made with, because, as you say, they have all that added "goodness". i think it's a cool idea. try it and tell us how it goes!
