So I've been doing the vegetarian thing for a bit now, but not really committing to it. I guess just kind of dipping my feet in the water, so to speak. I read an article arguing for the subjective immorality, (or irrationality if you'd prefer) of eating meat for which I couldn't really form an argument against. So here I am, signing up on a message board in hopes of getting some tips for the common questions like "how to make the transition a tasty one" and whatnot.

Welcome!

As far as "how to make the transition a tasty one", the advice that I took is to learn to cook and start with desserts. It makes it much more interesting and adds a lot more variety if you don't have to rely on commercially processed foods. And personally, I can sit through any meal, even ones I've completed mangled, if there is a good dessert at the end.

Hello!

I second the desserts! I've always had a big sweet tooth and learning to bake vegan desserts and snacks has been great. It's hard to feel like you're missing anything when you've got cupcakes in the fridge and fresh cookies in your cookie-jar. If you need meal ideas we have a few topics you might find helpful:

The Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner thread:

The Lunch Thread:

What's for Dinner:

The recipe section is also full of good recipes, don't be afraid to try new foods.
