I'm just starting out into the wonderful world of wine, and I'm on a budget so I can't afford to buy a whole bunch and try them out, so I'm looking for suggestions on at least where to start. I'd like a red wine for the health benefits, and have heard good things about Pinot Noir. In addition to being relatively low in tannins, I've read that this wine is among the highest in resveratrol. There appear to be several of these in the U.S. that are also relatively cheap and have received decent reviews. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Thank you for the suggestions! I ended up going with a Beringer Founders Estate 2009 Pinot Noir that was on sale for 9.99 but the store also had Red Truck Cabernet Sauvignon for the same price so I will probably try that one next time.

I was gonna recommend Beringer! I've been to their winery, and it's beautiful. Their wines are good too
Another one to try is Grgich Hills. Also, Chateau St. Jean. And Rombauer.

Been to all, tasted their wines, and have been impressed.
