Hi everyone. I don't think there's anything I can do about this situation but I just have to tell someone about it because it's really upsetting me.

Three days ago when we came back from whereever we went to go into the house and a pair of birds that live around our house were acting really strangely, almost like they wanted to follow us inside.

Then two days ago, in the evening, I was in the office with our cat who went under the spare bed and then I heard a sharp screech. I found a little bird, nearly fully grown. I tried to feed it because I knew that if it didn't eat it would probably die, but of course, since it was evening it wouldn't eat, and I could fool it's biological clock by turning the light on. Eventually I decided to shut my cat in and put it back outside. Well in the morning it was dead, but the worst part is that I now realise that the two birds were it's parents and they knew that my cat had taken it inside and were looking for it. They're still flying around the house calling to it this morning. I thought about putting the little dead bird somewhere where they'd see it but I don't think they'd recognise it. Besides I can't get to it, it had moved to the neighbours side of the fence before it died, and there's a good chance those neighbours are drug dealers.

It's just really tearing me up to hear the poor parents calling to their dead baby.

my cat killed a mother bird once & her husband was calling for her for 2 days, it was heartbreaking.Unfortunatly, i don't think there is much you can do.They will stop calling for it soon enough, i'm sure. It's so sad when this kind of thing happens, it really sucks
