I'm looking for a vegetarian alternative to leather work boots as produced by Timberland and Columbia. I really like those legendarry yellow boots, but I want by footwear to be leather-free.

I have tried http://www.vegetarian-shoes.co.uk/ http://www.zappos.com/vegan http://www.bboheme.com/ as well as few other online stores and found none.

What I need is yellow/beige work/combat boots that are comfortable, suitable for harsh winter and can breaze.

Look what I've found: http://www.shoebacca.com/timberland/...ium-42563.html

Looks leather-free to me. And ideas where else those might be available?

Looks like I'm not gonna find classic work boots, but this item looks interesting: http://www.llbean.com/llbeansignatur...10_pmd_wishabi

The boot is made of rubber, waxed canvas (paraffin is synthetic) and features few leather-like detals. If you own such boot, please advise if it uses natural or synthetic leather for these details.

I work in construction. I just can't come up with an alternative. They sell some cheap assed plastic work book at WalMart but, your feet will pay dearly. They will be brutally hot and they wont last very long and frankly, they just don't seem safe. I have a pair of Wrangler steel toes that are part split leather with a rubber/nylon mesh around the toe and nylon mesh up the front and around the top of the boot. They have the least amount of leather I could find. They are light weight, they hold up well and they were pretty cheap at Kmart. Here's a link.

http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/ProductDi...=1316608203672

If that doesn't work look up:

Thanks! I've checked your link. It says the product is suede. And suede is a type of leather, so - not an option.

Another one http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_1...B021270310001P got me puzzled. The description says:

Upper: Waterproof nubuck nylon

Is it nubuck or nylon?

No it's suede. Sorry. I have yet to find a comfortable "work" boot that doesn't have some leather in it. What I have found is that there are no "manmade materials" strong enough to stand up to a construction site. Plus, they don't breath and so your feet suffer. If I could find a reasonably priced pair of comfortable, sturdy, decent looking, non-leather work boots I would get them. The cheap plastic one's aren't a viable option. The first piece of structural steel or REBAR that you scrape them on will cut them and maybe you too.

I looked that the textile timberland boots. They look pretty good but, I'll bet they are like converse high top tennis shoes. I'll bet they are real hot on your feet. I have to be in boots all day, every day. It really narrows the field down. For now I'm sticking with what I have. But, I'll keep watching this thread to see if any good options appear.

Maybe some hemp boots?

Have you tried this one: http://store.veganessentials.com/air...oes-p2172.aspx

I don't like them since they only come in black, but they may be what you are looking for.

I love my Ragazzi Vegan workboots. I've had them for three years now. I even go hiking in them.

http://ragazzivegan.com/products.php...0002.0000.0000

I've found out Timberland produces ballistic nylon versions of their famous boots in various colors from time to time. They are hard to find however.
