This problem is sorta complicated so bare with me.

First thing I should say is no, I'm not tired. It has taken me months to realize that I definitely need more energy. I can get by work and my college classes fine with my diet/sleep schedule but that's just it. I'm simply just getting by retaining only minimal energy. In short, I really feel "meh" to anything I do at anytime of the day. I get excited, happy, and emotional when those times come, yet I don't have the energy to get more into it than I like. Like I could have a day off work and school, and when I wake up, I would still feel "meh" to everything.

See, I'm a big gamer, and I like to play competively. Whenever I win or accomplish something, it's fun, but I feel that I lack the energy to enjoy it more. This makes everything seem "meh". I am a very passive and laid back guy, but something tells me that I should be more assertive about school, work, and games. Even though I am a laid back person, isn't it possible to be somewhat hyper with the proper sleep schedule and diet? I know I'm getting enough sleep with 7-9 hours every night, but yeah something ain't right.

I have been pondering with my friend why I feel this way, and we can up with two conclusions.

1. I should start to work out in order to build upper body strength. Maybe the strength would give me more energy in general, but I don't know how much lifting weights will help. At my job, I walk around and push carts for hours on end, so I know I am getting the recommended amount of excercise almost every day.

2. My diet sucks ass. I'm a 18 year old vegan male. I weight 160, but yeah, I know I don't eat enough. My parents want me to buy my own groceries, so I can only buy so much at the grocery store before I run out of money(lately I don't even have money for the video games)! Also, yeah I need more easy-to-make food options. Here's what I eat on a regular basis.

Breakfast:

2 waffles with butter/syrup (vegan of course!)

or

some type of cereal with soymilk

Lunch:

2-3 more cups of soymilk with...

either a slice of bread

or

an entire can of black beans or black-eyed peas by itself

or

apple/banana/bowl of strawberries

Dinner:

Usually one of the following:

Amy's Potpies

Amy's Soups

Amy's Mushroom pizza

Stir fry with a cup of rice

black beans with a cup of rice

A huge ass burrito at Moe's(Southwestern grill resturant)

French fries with 1 Smart dog

An entire plate of Spaghetti

I have never had tofu scramble, hehehe. I'm looking into it because it seems to be a very popular food choice. Also, I'm clueless on smoothies. I don't know where you guys are buying frozen fruits at because I the only ones I see are the organic strawberries and blueberries. Plus, they are expensive! Go ahead and critque my diet anyways.

Thanks for the support as always.

I seem to have the same problem, I am lacking energy big time and I'm worried it is because of my diet. So I don't think I am at liberty to suggest diet changes for you, when I am so slack lately I'm living on picnic food. Smart eh. Whoo. I mays well be on a raw food diet when I eat. Anywho as for the frozen fruit thing I buy 'Europe's Best' fruit. It comes in a big bag and it isn't that expensive, you can also get neat frozen 'Europe's Best' veggies! Here's the site: http://www.europesbest.com/en_us/pro...?product_id=12

well it seems like you arent eating enough..especially at lunch. could you maybe add some more food to your lunch on top of what you are already eating? as far as smoothies go..I've found frozen fruit to be expensive also in my area but if you can get fresh strawberries and bananas for cheap you could use those. just peel the bananas, cut them in half or quarters and put them in the freezer, when they are frozen put them in a blender with soymilk and some strawberries. its cheap, easy and delicious. (you could also add some peanut butter for extra protein)

as for your job.....I worked retail for five years and at times all the employees were required to go outside and push carts....omg does that suck and it also made me have more respect for the people that had to do it every single day.

It's hard to draw a conlusion from a couple of lines. But one possibility with lack of energy might be depression. Could it be? Just a question to ask yourself.
