So this Monday, September 5, is Labor Day in the US, and many people will have the day off to give us a long weekend. Anyone have any special plans for the long weekend?

I'm heading to Naples, on the west coast of Florida, for the state chess championship. I live on the east coast of the state, so it's about a 2 hour drive. Even if I get clobbered at the chess board, it'll still be nice to spend the weekend in a nice hotel on the beach, though Tropical Storm Lee (currently Tropical Depression Thirteen, but should increase in strength enough to be named within a day or two) might make the surf a little too rough for swimming.

It is my plan to stay off the roads on Labor day (and on every other holiday), especially after dark. Basically, I assume that many of the people on the roads will be drunken drivers. So I basically just plan to stay home and sit on my @$$. Actually, I have a bunch of projects I've been meaning to get to, and I hope to actually complete one or two. So it will probably be a fairly dull day.

I could probably spend the whole day chopping down weeds and overgrown bushes and doing yard work and the like.

I'll be stressing out that it's my last day of summer vacation.

Recovering a chair, hiking and loving on my doggie. In no particular order. In fact, loving on said doggie will probably be continuous...until she sees a squirrel.

I am celebrating Labor Day by laboring. A lot. I'm on a deadline, and will be working all weekend.

I've been at my desk since about 7:00 AM. Yay holiday weekend!

Man, you have a lot of deadlines lately!

I'm house/child/pet sitting and have a lot of laundry and such to do, as well as tidying up because the people are coming back Monday afternoon.

I also have to bake and cook for several hours for clients.

No rest for the wicked!

Totally wasting away the time...I should be posting in the "what haven't you accomplished" thread. But hey, sometimes you just need to re-charge after a particularly grueling week at work! (That's my story and I'm sticking to it!)

So far I've watched the big bang theory, played minecraft, and have had a shower.
What a way to spend the end of summer
Then again, due to renovations at my school, I'm getting an extra day off, and don't have to go until the 7th.
