My son has B12 in his multi vitamin (6 mcg) and my daughter does not.
We have adult b12 lozenges (1000 mcg)
How much do kids need to have if they do not eat meat? My son is 2 and my daughter is 1.
I asked my pediatricians office- the nurse said she wasn't sure- she never has heard of that before- just think they are fine with the multi vitamin, even though I explained they were vegetarian.

My son drinks tons of fortified soymilk so that's where he gets his. For his first year he got it from soy infant formula. Then we weaned him to soymilk and that's what he drinks now at 20 months. As he grows and we move him more towards water and away from soymilk, he will get his B12 in fortified cereals and other foods as well as in a chewable supplement.

Jack Noris has specific recommendations for B12 for each age group, including adults: http://www.veganhealth.org/b12/rec
