January Challenge

As far as I can see, October was the last time we had a challenge up! Sorry, guys. I'm starting this one for anyone who wants to join.

For those of you not familiar with the monthly challenge, members interested in changing their health, weight, exercise, etc often post their goals and track their progress here.

I'm still deciding on my goals for January (and for the year) and I won't have control over what I eat, nor a place to exercise, for at least another week. But I'll post my goals then, if I have internet by that point.

Happy 2012, everyone!

I almost spit out my tea. Thanks for the good laugh!

Clarita, I didn't sweat much today, either, for the same reason. The gym was chilly! I'm still counting it, though
. I did 60 minutes on the treadmill. Happy, happy. I have a challenging weekend coming up. Two concerts, eating out, I'm sure. Going to try very hard to keep it healthy but still satisfying.

I'm making the mistake of thinking if I eat tons of fruits and vegetables, I can also eat unlimited other stuff and they will cancel each other out. Not working

I went to the gym three times this week, exactly as I intended. I lost a pound and a half since Monday. I'm at 138.5 from my original unhappy 142ish.

This exercise and eating well stuff really works! Whouda thunk it?
I'm going to the gym tomorrow.

I went to my mum's and ate all the food and now I have a tub of fudge in my bag

Maybe try only allowing yourself a pre-determined amount of fudge every day until it runs out, or, if you don't trust yourself to do that, give it to somebody!

I didn't do wonderfully this month - it's always something with me, haha. Colds, coughs, bruised ribs... my lungs are really struggling living at high altitude. But I know eventually I'll get used to it, so I'm prepping a plan for when this cold I got in the last day or two goes away. Already making my February goals, actually.

This
I think I'm getting back to my normal weights.

The ones I lift.
I have been eating healthier and having a lot more fresh fruit and veg although it hasn't made any difference on the scales. I used my exercise bike for about 10 minutes three times today. I might go and do another 10 mins and maybe use my kettlebells (if I am able to lift them!
)

I've FINALLY been seeing some movement (in the right direction) on the scale. Makes me more excited about the efforts I've been putting in

Well today is the last day for this month's challenge. I didn't make my goal of 6lbs, but I did lose 4lbs and I'm happy with that considering I had a pretty poor start to the month.
Hey, AddieB, I lost 4 as well, and I'm pretty psyched, even though I didn't hit my goal of 7, but hey, there's always next month
. I met my exercise goals, but I'm still falling short on the water. I will work harder on that next month.

I'm pretty sure I gained weight but it's hard to tell because, as if I haven't mentioned it enough across the boards, PERIOD.

Yeah that kills me too. I had a major stall last week, and as soon as mine ended the weight just went away. I retain water something crazy I guess.

Way to go! 4lbs definitely feels good, huh?

I have major problems with water too...

Thanks! It sure does feel good. After months of the weight slowly creeping up, it's nice to see it go the other way around! I did wicked awesome on water today: 56 ounces!
I might be up at 140 again. Hard to say. I ate a big breakfast and lunch before going to the gym on Monday, so that could easily account for a higher reading than normal.
I didn't do to much in Jan hopeing the next few months will be better.

Yeah, I'm still at 140, but I'm getting pretty muscle-y. Not sure how to measure that, but I'm betting my body fat percentage has gone down quite a bit in the last month.
