What sort of bitter note does that site hit for me? Even though I don't like the culture that we've cloaked Christianity with, this site is a reminder of the hatred that occurs within and towards the Church (I am including Catholics, Orthodox, and Protestants here)... Churches are not perfect. They're run by humans and this site makes a circus out of the entire thing. So, I find this site more depressing than funny.

If you're not a Fundamentalist Christian member of the religious right then this site isn't making fun of you. It isn't making fun of churches in general but a small, yet vocal, subset of them.

Yes, I agree, this site has chosen Fundamentalists -- especially Southern Baptists -- in their depictions. I was just saying it reminds me of what seems to happen across the board.<br><br><br><br>
I kind of get "cornered", if you will, by the site because I am basically fundamentalist myself (Yes, I know I call myself a Quaker, but I grew up Southern Baptist), yet disagree harshly with their political views.

Although many don't know this, it's actually possible to be a fundamentalist christian and not politically conservative. Although I admit it's difficult with some (but not all) liberals insulting you basically all the time, it's important to maintain one's values even when people you politically agree with don't like you.

I am not the most active Friend. I've been to like two meetings and that was over a year ago. I am not sure whether the beliefs exactly fit me, but I love the approach. I am thinking of going back pretty soon.
