So I ordered May Wah chicken legs and ham, and I thought it was very delicious - but it was so expensive because of the shipping and handling.. I'm kind of addicted to this stuff, but the online prices are too much. I never asked a store to carry anything before. There's this form you can print out on the site, that you give to them, but.. I'm kind of afraid of a "no"

For large grocery store chains like Whole Foods, the company often has to actually pay the store in order to have a spot for their product to be sold. Whether or not they end up with a contract depends on whether or not the items in that spot actually sell. A large chain like Whole Foods is, therefore, unlikely to get an item in simply because one person requests it. If you request it, and there happens to be other people requesting it as well, they may take the demand for the product into consideration if they ever end up in negotiations with May Wah.

I ordered from them...lots of good stuff. That was awhile ago when I ate more processed foods. I didn't like how you had to make a $50 minimum order though, but it was worth it for all the options they had!

It never hurts to ask a store to carry an item. If they say no, it won't kill you. I requested my local HFS to carry Field Roast and some seitan and they did! Well, some of the Field Roast products have since disappeared, but not all of them.

Who knows, your request might work and someone might stumble upon it and become a fan of their products, too. I still haven't ordered anything by them. I should at least give them a try. It sucks that they have a $50 minimum order.

Agree here. I've never asked Whole Foods to carry something, but the management has always been friendly and accommodating. They'll probably order it for you if you ask.
