Somehow whenever i eat tofu or something tofu made it always has this horrible taste or aftertaste. The food would be incredible if t didn't have this bitter aftertaste.

Does anyone know how to avoid or get rid of this bitterness? I never can make things like buffalo tofu or curry veggies because it always tastes bitter and i hate it.

Hmm. Are you draining the water away first? What brand and type are you using? I've never noticed a bitter taste.

You might want to try pressing it between two plates (with paper towel) to get out the moisture, then marinating.

I don't recall ever tasting bitter tofu.

I use soy sauce, spices, marinades, etc... Those should help mask any aftertaste you are experiencing with the tofu.

I've only noticed it tasted bitter if it had gone off. Ew.

I think it means 'spoiled'. If it always tastes that way to you, than it's probably not that it's gone bad. I guess it's just the way it tastes to you!

Some people simply tatse certain things differently. It may be that this is a taste-characteristic that only you (or only a very few people) have. Do soymilks or other soy products have this effect?

It's possible you have some sort of allergy or chemical sensitivity to one of the ingredients used to make the tofu. Maybe try different brands or the "fresh" bulk stuff from Asian markets (WAY different IMO) or try Mori-Nu or some similar packaged brand.

Good luck.
