Well to the few of you out there who ever find yourself in Iowa city, Iowa... a new bakery/ coffehouse opened on the 300 block of South Dubuque St.(the first block south of the Sheraton hotel) called Grounds For Dessert. They have vegan desserts, waffles, panini (like sandwiches with special bread)... they even homemake their vegan cheese. It's good.

I grew up in the most conservative county in Iowa (Sioux), and moved to the most liberal (Johnson). Weird. I like IC a lot except for the high cost of living and all the bars. It can be a bit pretentious here. I'm not complaining (most of the time)

Love the free concerts at the U, the co-op, the eastern foods grocery, and the plethora of veggie friendly restaurants. I'm not complaining (most of the time)

Anyone want to have a veggieboards get-together, at a restaurant maybe? I love Masala too, but India cafe is generally quieter. I would go to Dubuque or the Quad Cities but options are limited there. Tho Exotic Thai in Davenport is really yummy.

During my time in Iowa we spent a lot of time drinking beer. Des Moines, and a few other cities might not be too bad, but Fort Dodge.... I don't want to be back there for any reason for a long time. I'll return when my Grandma dies.

New veggie here (only on day 3!). I grew up in Dubuque and have been living in Cedar Falls for the last 6 years. I only know one person who is veg*n here and he's moving in a couple weeks, so I hope to meet some more soon.
