Hello,<br><br>
I am 31 years old, complete vegetarian since 2002, no red meat since I was 9years old. I live in Alabama so it is hard to meet other vegetarians/vegans. I have two Master's Degrees: Counseling & Psychology, and a Master of Education in Physical Fitness Management. I took several health classes for the degree in physical fitness management, I did the research & now have proof that vegetarians/vegans are healthier than meateaters! I work as a youth counselor for troubled teenagers. I have two dogs, one is a 114 pound white collie. I have my shop on Vegbay.com under southernvegetarian.

Yes. The White Collie is 5 years old, Winnie the Pooch. Sheltie is 6 years old, Kosmo. Both are spoiled rotten, and both makes themselves comfortable on my bed.<br><a href="http://cdn.veggieboards.com/5/5c/5c59dfea_vbattach4397.jpeg"><img alt="LL" src="http://cdn.veggieboards.com/5/5c/525x525px-LL-5c59dfea_vbattach4397.jpeg" style="width:100px;height:75px;"></a><br><a href="http://cdn.veggieboards.com/1/18/18abc676_vbattach4398.jpeg"><img alt="LL" src="http://cdn.veggieboards.com/1/18/525x525px-LL-18abc676_vbattach4398.jpeg" style="width:100px;height:75px;"></a><br><a href="http://cdn.veggieboards.com/c/cb/cbb25e31_vbattach4399.jpeg"><img alt="LL" src="http://cdn.veggieboards.com/c/cb/525x525px-LL-cbb25e31_vbattach4399.jpeg" style="width:100px;height:75px;"></a>

I kept clicking madly on the photos, wondering why they wouldn't enlarge, and then I realized that they're not thumbnails. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/laugh.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=""><br><br><br><br>
They're cutie pups (what I can see of them).

If anyone is interested I have a website with more pix of my dogs, they are clearer and larger than the ones posted. The website is at the end of every posting.

Welcome. I'm in 'Bama too, although I'm planning to get out of here in Q1 2007. This is right-wing heaven, and I just don't fit in. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/help.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":help:">

Good luck with getting your Master's Degree in Psychology, it will be tough if you have to do an internship like I did (1 1/2 years!) It is worth it, when you get out of graduate school, and start counseling individuals, helping them with life issues!

What part of Bama are you in, north or south? I am in the middle. Some parts of northern Bama are more accepting of vegetarianism, unfortunately I don't live there! Yes, Alabama is conservative, along with the rest of the south. I understand how you feel, because I definitely don't fit in, not with me being a vegetarian, & animal lover. I have two neighbors who love to BBQ, and one likes to hunt. He knows how I feel about the issue, and that's it, we agree to disagree. On the issue of him grilling up dead animals almost every weekend, I just tell him all of the health problems that he can get from eating meat. When I first told him I was a vegetarian, he said "What's wrong with you." My response was "I want to stay healthy." In the South, a lot of people don't care about animal welfare, so I usually stick with health facts. Sometimes it is the only way to get through to them. Now, I let my feelings be known to family members, friends, and co-workers about my beliefs, and they accept me for who I am. Some do not, and I have learned not to worry about these individuals. If everything else fails, there is always VB!

Cute doggies!<br><br><br><br>
I'm always impressed when people are able to stay veg in places where it's not common or even frowned upon. I'm spoiled by living in the Northwest.<br><br><br><br>
