I figure this is a bit health related so why not post my problem!

My legs are covered in red bumps that are just ingrown hairs but with my light olive complexion it looks like I have chicken pox! Let us factor in one leg is covered in a 3" patch of scars from shingles...My legs look scary! I love my mini skirts to!

I heard exfolating will help so I have on my 'to buy list' some fruit body scrub. I should point out I use a wash cloth everyday which I thought helped shed dead skin. The health food store dude said to ad flax to my diet if my skin tends to be dry which is not the case. I use Kiss My Face sensitive skin lotion (the only one that seems to not give me hives but which does not work great) daily and a mild olive/coconut based soap. I shave to...But I have been shaving for 14 years with no problems!

Help get my legs in top condition...Being 5'10" (6'4" in my favorite shoes) my legs are a priority point!

I am assuming you shave, right? The only thing I can think of so far is to not shave against the grain. I get them, too, not sure what else one can do.

If you have time, try soaking in the bathtub before you shave. If I do this beforehand, it seems to make everything softer and less irritated and ingrown afterwards. Like Thalia said, don't shave against the grain. Keep your legs moisturized, too. . . and take a day off here and there to let them rest up =)

I have this problem... I find that if my legs are cooped up in a tight pair of jeans too long (something about the friction?) I get more ingrown hairs.. Hm. So maybe just wear the miniskirts more often?

Ohh, how I long to be tall........

WELL, I don't know if there is any truth to this at all, but I've heard that rubbing a baking soda paste all over your legs helps remove ingrown hairs. I've never tried it, but I read it in one of those beauty magazines. Nonetheless, it really is true that if you soak in a tub full of warm water- and try to shave with the grain of your hair growth- the problem should decrease.

I do soak/steam in the shower for a few minutes before shaving. I think it is time to buy those cool razors and some foam from Pangea. I usally use conditioner since most foams make me break out in hives. I should try and find the KMF have gel/foam because I did not have problems with that.

I was reading on gloss.com to exfoliate. I am thinking a trip to Origins is in order. Maybe Pomagranete scrub or fruit scbrub...Baking soada sounds like a good idea to try. I could always mix in some EOs for a spa treat. I like yummy smells.

Ohh pants can't be a problem. The only pants I own are to work out in and are all made of terry cloth material and are yoga pants cut (flowing legs)! I am a mini skirt gal!

Yup, I am 5'10"...Also I am Sicilian which means by fifth grade I already passed my grandmother and most of my family up in height. Ohh and I have a thing for platforms...My shortest pair are 4" high. I walk fine in them but trip in flip flops...go figure!
