Suitable for: Vegetarians<br><br>
Note: If you can't find hing (or don't want to go get it) I believe you can sautee a small shallot to get a similar flavor.<br><br>
Toor daal: one cup<br>
Tomatoes: 3-4<br>
Green Pepper: 1-2<br>
Urad daal: 2 spoons<br>
Cumin seeds: 1 spoon<br>
Hing: one pinch<br>
Oil/butter: two spoons<br>
Turmeric Powder: one/two pinches<br><br>
Boil the lentils along with tomatoes. Warm the oil/butter in a pan. Add the urad daal, cumin seeds, green pepper, and hing. Once the seasoning is golden brown, add the boiled lentils, salt, turmeric powder and let it boil. Serve it with rice.
