I use this recipe at least once every two weeks. Great for dipping, fantastic as the "meat" of a wrap. And dangit, it is easy beyond imagining.

Black Bean Dip

Ingredients:
1 can black beans (~500 mL cooked beans, for people cooking from dried), rinsed
3/4 cup salsa
3-4 cloves garlic

Instructions:
Put it in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.

...And that's it. Seriously.

What a black hole that must be...I use canned black beans almost religiously, be it in Mexican rice, mixed with greens, as a stuffing with rice for peppers and tomatoes...oh I am so sorry u don't have ready access to these little oblong vessels of nutritious joy.

My woes for you having been aired, I would imagine kidney/pintos would be just as yummy, and maybe the texture a little more robust.
