I am 25 and turned veggie on 1st Jan. My boyfriend is vegan, so I tend to eat more of a vegan diet anyway and have been gradually converting to soya milk and vegan cheese.

The past few weeks I have been unable to fight my tiredness like i normally do, and I'm just wondering if I am possibly B12 deficient, or just generally tired.

I go to college 3 days a week, work 2 days a week and have 1 day a week of placement, leaving me sundays to try and catch up on my coursework.

I now tend to fall asleep from about 10.30pm onwards. Even when I have extra sleep in the day this still happens to me, and i'm starting to get worried, it is affecting my coursework, work and sex life...

I do eat lots of vegetables, often having about 6 in one meal, I eat a fair bit of tofu too, and brown pasta and brown rice.

Should I see how I am after I have had more rest in the holidays, or go and see a doctor anyway??

Any advice would be much appreciated...

The only way to know for sure is with a blood test. With a vitamin/mineraly deficiency, the sooner you catch it the better because it's easier to build your stores back up.

Is there any way you could be pregnant? (makes you really sleepy sometimes)

It might be a vitamin deficiency, I've had extremely low vitamin D levels and the most common symptom of that is extreme tiredness. I would have days I could sleep 18 hours! Since I've been taking supplements, those symptoms have slowly gone and I've got a normal energy level and sleeping pattern now.

Do a blood test, it can tell you a lot.

You should get a blood test, but I'm calling this one early

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxKBu7ew7Vs

Thanks for the advice guys, I will book an appointment with the doctor asap. There is very little chance of me being pregnant, have an implant in my arm to prevent that kinda thing, plus just started on my period today. I'm reckoning it will be just a vitamin deficiency, or just exhaustion from doing too much on too little sleep....
