there was an article i saw today about a major animal food recall so i thought i would post about it here. i didn't see another thread for it, but i apologize if there is.

It looks like it only effects canned/wet food right? I think that means Jake, Addie, and Jessie are safe, but I fowarded the recall info to my parents. Thanks for the warning.

My kitties food is ok, but I fwded this to everyone I know with pets who eat wet food. That is a ton of brands!

I looked at all of my food last night and fortunately none of it was the same flavors or lots. I immediately took my cats' food away until I could check. Very scary.

Thankfully, I get my cat's food directly from the Vet. She's on a restricted diet.

Our kitten gets organic wet food. I'm pretty picky about what we feed the little man.

Is anyone going to change cat food over this? I don't really want to but it kind of scares me...

I was suprised to see nutro on their with all those crap brands. I can't really change it though, they're the only ones who make chunks and gravy style wet food that isn't horrible (at least that I've found). My kitties will just eat dry if I try to give them the "loaf" type stuff and I'd rather them have a bit more moisture in their foods. I guess just eating innova dry wouldn't kill them...

Dog bicuits have now been added to the list. I've never heard of this brand. Maybe it's just local.

My dogs are now only allowed treats from the local dog bakery. I know they're not importing wheat from China.

the treats was a seperate issue, it was for salmanella

fyi i think hills perscription cat food was on that list so just because it's right from the vet doesn't necessarily mean it's safe, you should check just in case.

The Dingo treats were recalled for salmonella. The ones in the article above from Sunshine bakery or whatever it was contained small amounts of the contaminated wheat gluten.
