My ex is freaking out because him and his mom have a young bunny and he keeps it in a tiny apartment bathroom on the second story, they apparently haven't been checking on her, and the vent for the air was closed, it was something like 98 degrees today, i've told him they need to be in cool temperatures and at like 90 degrees they will die. he just noticed her acting odd and thought she overheated, i'm almost certain of the same, but i'm also pretty sure it's so bad that she's in shock and will probably die. He eyes are responsive, but she's not eating and will not get up. I'm not around him so can't physically do anything, and i'm so pissed that they even got a rabbit if they couldn't take care of it.

I'm so sorry and I'd be beyond upset too. I hope the little bunny will be OK and if they can't take care of her properly they should find her a new home. I do hope she will be OK.

He wants to help her and of course feels bad, he's putting cool washcloths on her ears cuz i told him too, and he was giving her water by syringe but is scared that he'll force her to take in too much water at once and hurt her. They don't have the money to take to vet, and apparently the ones down here are closed right now.

I'm not a vet and i do have an older rabbit but my rabbit has always been well looked after, so i've never had any medical problems with him, but i'm trying to get my ex to bring her over here because i feel like my house is cooler downstairs and well as a animal loving vegetarian even if i can't literally do anything i want to at least be there and try even if i end up having to be there when she dies, i also don't believe he has internet so if more things come up i can actually look them up.

Lol i actually can't take another bunny, can't afford it and don't have the space ugh i guess you learn from mistakes so if she survives he better do better, and i feel kind of responsible cuz i knew they were sort of neglectful and that it's summer but i totally forgot about theitr bunny.

I figured you wouldn't be able to keep her, but I was responding to your post saying you wanted him to bring her over to your place so you could look after her better. I should have been clearer, sorry.

Lol ya he'll bring her, my mom might get mad that there's a second bun here but i honestly don't care. He just sent me a video of her and it's really not good she's on her side head tilted back and shaking her limbs, which could possibly be her seizing<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/sad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":(">

Awww, that's so awful. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/hug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=""><br><br>
Hopefully this experience will teach your dumb ex that keeping animals in sweltering heat is a BAD IDEA. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/furious.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":furious:">

Ya when he got here with her she was actually already gone, stiff as a board, i didn't give him any grief because he already felt guilty enough. We were both a little in denial at first, i kept wanting to find a pulse, but i have common sense and i know that an animal stiff with it's eyes open and not breathing is not alive, i covered her and he's taking her back to bury her now. It went very fast, a couple hours ago she seemed fine, just shows it must have gotten very hot to change so fast, there was definitely nothing anyone could do once he actually noticed something was wrong, i'm sure her brain had swelled and heated too much, good thing he said he won't be getting another rabbit. I am honestly so thankful though it was not my baby bunny i'd feel so much worse right now.

This is extremely infuriating to me. I'm sorry that she died <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/sad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":("> Hopefully in the future your ex won't purchase animals he can't care for.

Poor bunny! Aww man. RIP little babe. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/hug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=""><br><br>
Loudly echo the "learned a lesson" and "maybe he won't get any more animals he knows he will not properly take care of" comments. The bun was completely reliant on them for everything and they neglected her, so now her life is gone. Poor bun. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/sad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":(">
