No you come on now.
How "natural" are domesticated animals anyway? Humans have bred them to be so different from their orriginal species, who can say what can be "natural" for these pets?
I think she was being sarcastic.Originally Posted by jojob1969

Do these two animals appear to be acting "natural"?
Forcing wild animals to be vegitarian is out of the question, but I see nothing wrong with feeding domesticated animals meatless food.
Thirteen centons.
I would suggest not breeding them to create this problem in the first place, especially since the non-existent potential "pets" aren't harmed by us not breeding them into existence.
But those animals are all extremely unnatural anyway. Say we organised a habitat for them and let them go in it, maybe with some predators, they'd all die. The cows would get mastitis (udder infections) because their udders are now too big for single calves. All the animals would be too slow to outrun the predators etc. I'm not sure (as much as I love them) that domestic farm animal breeds should exist.Originally Posted by Vegi Chik

I've lived on farms all my 14 years until last year, when I had to move to town![]()
Not all cows can be bred for milk. Not all sheep are bred for wool. Not all chickens are bred for eggs. If people were not eating cows such as Charolais, Hereford, Angus, etc., they would no longer be bred so they would die out. Dairy cows such as Holsteins, Jerseys, etc. might still live.
My friend and her father are beef farmers, and are vegetarians. They like to raise cows, but don't like how they end up. That really doesn't have anything to do with the topic though.
If everyone went veggie, no more meat would be needed, no more cows, pigs, chickens, etc. would be bred, the older ones would die off, and that would be the end of our meat animals. That's what would happen.
