I have taken a risk this year and decided to go against using the "meal plans" provided here at college. I didn't think it would be a problem, as I can easily bring my own food for lunch, however it seems as though there are no microwaves in the dinning halls at all! I'm so used to bringing food that can be heated and re-heated that I'm sort of at a loss here. So what sorts of veg*n dishes do you all like served cold? I know that I can always bring simple things such as salad, fruits, hummus, ect. but I'd like to have a nice variety so I don't get tired of anything quickly.
Any help is appreciated!

Grain, pasta, or bean salads -- for example, tabouli is just about the perfect lunch food I've found. Sandwiches and wraps are a no brainer.

You might also look into a thermos or something similar for keeping foods hot -- I've been wanted to get a Mr. or Ms. Bento lunch jar for a while now. Supposedly it will keep things hot for 6 hours, if you use it correctly.

RunnerVeggie pretty much covered what I was going to say! Pasta salads, cous cous salads and bean salads are my favourites - I cook this type of thing a lot for my bf to take to work. Wraps/bagels/pittas make sandwhiches a little more interesting (falafel wraps, or cold bean burgers cut up in wraps are really nice! or roast veg and hummus, or left over bean chilli). I used to take curries and soups to school with me in a thermos and they kept piping hot, or tiffin boxes could work well as well although I haven't tested mine out for keeping things hot that well yet.

These are some recipes online I enjoy cooking that are great cold, which may give you some ideas: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/co...mushroom_81121 http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/mo...paghetti_93952 http://www.vegansociety.com/lifestyl...mushrooms.aspx
