Hi, guys. I wanna loose some weight, while I stay vegan. I'm gonna exercise because of anxiety, sleep and to stay in shape, too. What should I eat more/less of?

Depends on what you're eating atm. But generally smaller portions of everything, more veg (fill up on fiber, low calorie), and no junk food.

One of the problems with weight loss that a lot of people don't realize is that they drink too many calories. Empty calories in juice, pop, soy lattes, etc could be holding you back. Cut out all sugary drinks and stick to water, or black coffee if you like that. That and cut portion sizes, and the change should happen Good luck

Maybe get healthy, stay vegan forever, and maintain a healthy body? Tis not all about the weight, and veganism is certainly more than a weight loss tool.

I'm trying to lose weight (and it's working). For breakfast, I'm taking a green powder supplement (it is comprised of 72 fruits/veggies) and chia seeds. I eat bananas and apples as snacks during the day. For lunch, I eat a bowl of Fiber One or All Bran with Truvia. Also, I may eat baby carrots or a salad with lowfat Italian. For dinner, I eat a variety of things like salads, veggie chili (this is awesome for nutritional content and low calories), stir fried veggies, roasted veggies, etc. I'm not cooking with any oil. Then for dessert, I am eating more cereal.

It's not as much fun as lounging around and eating pizza, spaghetti, subs, etc, but I feel healthier than I have in years. I have had a problem with my left leg hurting this year and the diet and exercise has completely eliminated the pain. Also, I have been falling to sleep pretty fast and staying asleep the whole night. I just had a physical yesterday and my blood pressure is the lowest it has ever been. The doctor says I appear to be pretty healthy. I will get the cholesterol, B12, iron, etc results in a week or two.

1. Cut out unnecessary calories (those with little of the important nutrients)
2. Eat more protein
3. Work out
4. ???
5. Profit

The worst thing you can do is to just cut calories without a second thought.

Watch the film Forks Over Knives. That will show you exactly what you should be eating.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1567233/

also look at how much outside fats you are consuming....getting your fats in whole foods is more nutritious for you, by eating foods like avocados, flax, nuts and seeds and even olives, than it is to use oil for cooking and then adding more oils to salads, including vegan mayo, etc. you'll be getting more phytochemicals and micronutrients in the whole foods

Agreed.

Avoid white flour, white bread, and white rice.

Foods I've found to be conducive to weight loss:

Broccoli
Spinach
Lentils
Black Beans
Almonds (portion control)

I would avoid too much fruit consumption as well.

I ingest 2tbspoon of apple cider vinegar in my morning water and take a crushed clove of fresh garlic every night. Both help digestion and act as a cure all. Since I started doing that I've steadily lost weight. I still work out 3 times a week and eat small portions, with meals favoring filling fibers and fruits. I crave sugary yumminess though, so fruit is my cure to candy!

Seconded, though, it shouldn't be eliminated totally from your diet as we obviously need fruit for nutrients and things. I always aim for between 7-10 portions of fruits/veggies a day with at least 6 being from vegetables. Maybe avoid the fruits with higher sugar contents compared to others, such as grapes.
