Thank you! I love my rats. They're like little dogs, in a way. They're actually eating dog treats in the last 2 photos. Lolz.

I just uploaded a shot of Stewart drinking my soy milk, too.

They are friendly, they're cute, and they're so much fun to take around with me. People think it's nuts that I walk around with rats on my shoulders.

winter loved to ride around in the hood of my hoodie. i went to my former work place one night with her and was walking around, talking to the birds. she would periodically stick her head out and look around. some customer was just standing there looking me/her. i don't think he really knew what was going on.

HCA, there's nothing wrong with having rats on your shoulder! mine loved it. i couldn't always cut their nails so my neck would look all scratched up but they loved to curl up in my hair, too.

your babies are too cute.

My rat did that too. He'd ride there wherever I went. Sometimes he'd climb on top of my head and perch there.

I had a female that I got from work and the day I picked her out I was on shift so I kept her on my shoulder the whole day. She peed down my back once and my front once, climbed on my head, hid in my hair ... people were totally freaked out by it.

When she peed down my back a little girl next to me goes, "The rat just peed on you."
Rats are fun.

I wish there was a better way for me to share photos. I don't get why I can't just put them right into the post.

If you like rats you'll like the 6th Ave Station, on the L line (along 14th St), in New York City. They come out of holes in the wall, behind the tracks, play on the tracks, eat stuff that people throw on the tracks, and then go back into the holes. Lots of holes, lots of rats. Just so cute. The station is really dirty tho. They should clean it up so that the rats have a cleaner place to live.

I haven't adopted any rats (yet), but everyone I know who has kept them tells me they're very responsive, intelligent, and affectionate.

Cute pix, HCA! The one with your rat poking his head out of a hole reminds me of the time two of my gerbils went spelunking in my bed matress. (It was an old matress... no harm done really).

Soilman: did you hear about the Taco Bell/ KFC in New York where passersby recently saw rats scampering around inside when it was closed?

Yea. Not sure why that made the news. Extra, extra, first time ever, rats in a NYC building.

Mine looked a lot like yours. They were 2 females that I named Laverne and Shirley. They were really cool, I miss them. Shirley used to ride in the front pocket of my hoodie too. Lavern would not stay still long enought to even make it out of the room, she loved to explore. They died a couple of years ago, both of cancer. I miss them
