Vegan Southern Biscuits and Gravy!!!

Seriously, I've made so many homemade vegan recipes from Vegweb.com in the last two months that it's unbelievable in hopes that my omnivore father would find SOMETHING that he'd like. He's a hardcore meat and potatoes FREAK (just like everybody else that lives around here).

This morning I decided to make this recipe (using Gimme Lean 'sausage', not morningstar which contains egg whites) and he absolutely adores it!

I'm so excited I just had to share this with somebody- and I figure you all would be the only people who would understand how excited I am .

Oh and here's the link to the biscuits that I made to go with the gravy:

Biscuits like Mom Never Made

I use this recipe often for breakfast. They're also great with jam and the like.

can I make those without the yeast flakes? I mean, if I use ordinary yeast. I haven't seen yeast flakes here

Yes, you can definetly make them without yeast flakes. They're only there for the 'cheesy' flavor. My sisters actually prefer them without yeast flakes.\\

Edit: And DON'T use ordinary yeast! Normal yeast and yeast flakes are two completely different things as yeast flakes aren't active (they don't cause bread to rise). Vegans and vegetarians alike often use nutritional yeast flakes for flavor and because they add vitamins to recipes. Just omit the yeast flakes and everything will be fine

OMG Stellar! This is so weird because my dad used to make the meat-version of this for us all the time. I missed it so much that I created a vegan version of it myself using the Gimme Lean Sausage as well. He lives in another state, so I won't be seeing him anytime soon....but I plan on making it for him. (He's big on meat-eating as well). You are the FIRST person I've talked to since I made it that knows what Biscuits and Gravy is! That is so cool that your dad loved it so much.
