Slips happen even to the best of us, just say **** happens and learn from it. Its not a big deal EVERY vegan I know has accidently eaten something from an animal.

Feeling shame over something like that is pointless. You didn't do it on purpose. You're heart's in the right place. Don't worry about it.

Don't spend another second feeling bad. I've been doing this for years and I still sometimes mess up. It isn't about personal purity. You're doing great, keep it up!

What others said. Plus, you're new to this you are bound to make mistakes when starting something new. I did, and I'm pretty sure everyone else did as well. Good luck

If it's an accident there's nothing to be ashamed of. This whole thing is largely as much about intent as execution. Anyone can drop the ball now and then.

You are right, tomorrow is another day. And I've made slips several years into being vegan. Missed an ingredient when reading labels etc. It happens to most. You are fine.

If I worried about that, then I'd be a very "bad" vegan. But you know what? There is no such thing as a "bad" vegan, the point is that you do the best of your ability!

Never feel ashamed. Whether a slip is intentional or unintentional (I've done both) shame will not help you on your journey.

Get over it, get on with it, and don't give it any more attention that it deserves.

Thanks guys! I just felt so bad. I couldn't believe I literally stood there watching my mom mix the butter into the rice and then after she was done cooking it, it totally slipped my mind that there was butter in it! I read the ingredients to the rice and nothings was really in it and it did not say butter! But when you read the cooking instructions it does say to use butter...I didn't read that part. If I would have actually READ that rather than saw my cooking it in, I probably wouldn't have forgotten it was in there. Oh well. So far so good today. Need more rice milk though! lol

yeah don't feel bad. especially since it was an honest mistake. i wasn't even feeling bad about the few known slip ups in the start. transferring is a process of learning and adapting and in the beginning you will find animal products where you don't expect

Exactly. I'm now 6 weeks into veganism, and it's blowing my mind how animal products sneak into seemingly everything!

It happens. To everybody. Especially in the beginning. Even to long-time vegans. Don't feel so bad; it wasn't your intention
