I voted in your poll! Did I pick the right one?

Why do you want to go on a liquid diet? Are you really overweight? Is that you in your avatar?

You could try it for maybe a week, then slowly bring in healthy foods. But to lose weight, you need a lifestyle change.

I don't have kids myself, but if you have three kids, you'll need to eat enough to have energy to keep up with them. Don't eat too little.

*many curses* EAT-FRIKKEN EAT!!! FOOD IS GOOD, PEOPLE NEED FOOD, BLEEP DIETS!!! JUST BE HEALHTY!!!! LIQUID/STARVATION/ANY OTHER DIETS ARE NOT HEALTHY!!! Sure, go on a liquid diet for a couple weeks, lose some weight... once you start eating it's all gonna come back, maybe more even for how it messes up your metabolism. Just eat healthy, & exercise... really, it is that easy! Some may have other probs & need therapy etc for that... but what it comes down to is EAT HEALTHY, EXERCISE!!! Do that, let your body take on whatever shape/size it wants to and accept it! This isn't a pro-ana forum to give tips on how to starve yourself... which IMO an all liquid diet is starvation. I could be wrong, I'm sure there may be some liquid diets which provide enough nutrition etc... however, the OP seems to have little or no information on liquid diets and it sounds as if she wants info for fast weight loss rather than healthy weight loss. Talk to a nutritionist, set up a healthy diet for yourself. Don't bleep around with fad diets, etc...!!!

a liquid diet will let you quickly lose weight.. only to quickly gain it back the minute you eat again. the best 'diet' is lifestyle change. 4 or 5 mini meals, portion control, regular exercise, healthy food choices such as lots of fruits and veggies. this will be the most beneficial to you in the long run. plus, exercise is free, so that shouldn't strain your budget.

I agree with MZCsmpsns, eat healthy and exercise. That is what I am doing nad I have lost 37lbs so far. I tried a lot of gimmicks thinking they will work. They only work for that period of time until you go back to your habits. The key is change your eating habit. Start eating healthy.

Please don't try the liquid diet, your body needs food, healthy food. I was reading "Eat More, Weigh Less". He talks about eating more healthy foods and watch out for sugar, meats, fats. They have a lot of empty calories.

The lemonade diet is awesome!! But it needs to be a lifestyle change. You have to really committed to drinking only lemonade for the remainder of your life. Food carries toxins which get into your bloodstream and cuase you to slowly die over a period of as little as one century. So, avoiding the food and sticking with lemonade will help clear your bloodstream, as well as nourish your body with the essential sugars and citric acids that it needs to live for many many months!

Liquid diets don't work. End of story.

(Really: go ask any diet program to provide you with their long-term statitistics. They won't give them to you, because in the long-term, these programs do not have a vry good track record.)

Going on a liquid diet is a cockamamme, desperate, irrational thing to do, and is likely to a)make you feel crazy, b)screw up your metabolism, c)lead to possible binging, and d) be a temporary measure after which you will regain the weight and feel angry, frustrated, down on yourself, anxious, or all of the above.

Go to a nutritionist. If that isn't a financial option, perhaps google your a** off and learn about portion sizes and nutrition on your own. Hit the library and read about it.

Best of luck-- this is so totally do-able in a healthy, non-obsessive way

Besides, do you really want to have your children see their mother engaging in extreme dieting behaviour?

Go to your doctor and ask him for a healthy life style eating/exersise pills. Diet pills are bad news and liquid diets equally so.

A liquid diet consists of fresh fruit juices or shakes. They are prepared keeping in mind nutritiously, along with sweeteners, sugar, skimmed milk and a good quantity of fiber, minerals and vitamins. Certain liquid diets also permit the consumption of solid or real food intake in proportional sizes.

Liquid diets are usually a temporary form of diet advised before a surgery takes place. The liquid diets fall in to two categories. One is a low calorie liquid diet and the other a meal replacement liquid diet.

The low calorie liquid diet is practiced under strict medical supervision only. This diet provides on an average about five hundred to eight hundred calories a day. This is normally a short-term diet plan, mostly recommended to those who have serious obesity problems and need to lose a lot of weight in a short span of time.

The meal replacement liquid diet replaces one or two whole meals with liquids. This type of liquid diet is offered to many people as an effective tool to reduce weight.

Liquid Diets
