lawl, since when have we needed an excuse?The problem I have with the idea "annihilating other species is a fun pastime of ours" is that it gives people now an excuse to continue their bad behavior "OH well, humans are just evil and we've always been evil and destructive." Thing is, now we KNOW what we are doing to our habitats and other creatures. IN the past, folks were ignorant of the big picture, now we aren't but ideas such as "humans are evil and we've always been evil and enjoyed annihilating other species" give us the excuse not to change, because after all, we can't change our basic evil nature, can we?
We can't fall back on excuses like this anymore, we need to take responsibility for what we are doing NOW, instead of blaming folks in the past.
